🐢 Sea Turtle Conservation Initiative
Protecting Sea Turtles — From Their First Journey to the Ocean to Adulthood
Imagine a tiny sea turtle emerging from its nest, crossing the beach, and making its first journey toward the ocean. It is a remarkable moment, but for many hatchlings, survival is far from guaranteed.
Sea turtles face threats throughout their lives, including plastic pollution, fishing nets, habitat destruction, coastal development, and the loss of safe nesting beaches.
I want to help make a difference by launching an independent sea turtle conservation initiative dedicated to protecting these extraordinary animals and the habitats they depend on.
🌍 A Mission Without Borders
My vision is to support sea turtle conservation across the world, beginning with field visits to Türkiye and Mexico, and expanding towards important coastal and nesting regions such as Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and other countries where sea turtles live and reproduce.
I want to visit nesting beaches, connect with local conservation specialists, learn about the challenges facing sea turtles, and identify practical ways to support existing conservation efforts.
From hatchlings making their first journey to the sea, to young turtles growing in coastal waters, to adults returning to beaches to lay their eggs, every stage of their lives deserves protection.
🐢 What I Want to Help Achieve
The initiative aims to support conservation activities such as:
- Protecting nesting beaches: Supporting responsible efforts to safeguard nesting areas and reduce disturbance during nesting season.
- Helping hatchlings: Learning from qualified local specialists and supporting safe, science-based hatchling protection.
- Supporting injured turtles: Connecting with established rescue and rehabilitation centres and helping their work where possible.
- Protecting marine habitats: Raising awareness of plastic pollution, fishing-related threats, and damage to coastal ecosystems.
- Building international connections: Working with local conservation groups, researchers, volunteers, and wildlife specialists to identify meaningful opportunities for action.
These are the goals of a new initiative. Activities will be developed according to local needs, expert guidance, available funding, and applicable laws.
✈️ Help Launch the First Field Mission
Every meaningful journey begins with a first step.
The initial fundraising goal is to help me travel to priority coastal areas, meet local specialists, document conservation needs, and develop the foundation for future field activities.
Donations will help cover necessary travel, accommodation, local transportation, field equipment, safety requirements, and coordination expenses directly related to the project.
I will share progress updates and document the work through photographs, videos, and reports so supporters can follow how the initiative develops and how funds are used.
Travel is not the final goal. It is the first step toward establishing real connections, understanding local challenges, and identifying conservation activities that can make a lasting difference.
💚 Every Contribution Matters
You do not need to make a large donation to become part of this mission.
A small contribution, combined with support from people around the world, can help bring the first field mission closer to reality.
If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign with friends, wildlife communities, environmental groups, and people who care about the oceans can also make a difference.
My long-term vision is to grow this initiative into a sustained international effort for sea turtle conservation, with transparent reporting, responsible partnerships, and measurable activities.
🔎 Transparency and Trust
This initiative is at the beginning of its journey. I will be honest about what has been achieved, what remains a goal, and how donations are spent.
Project-related travel and accommodation expenses will be disclosed as part of the fieldwork budget. Updates will explain the progress made, the people and organisations contacted, and the conservation opportunities identified.
Funds will be used for the purposes described in this campaign, in accordance with the fundraising platform’s terms and applicable laws.
🌊 Join the Journey
Sea turtles have survived for millions of years. With responsible conservation, cooperation, and public support, we can help give future generations of these remarkable animals a better chance.
I cannot protect every sea turtle alone. But together, we can help support the people, places, and actions that protect them.
Please donate if you can, share this campaign, and help launch the first step of the Sea Turtle Conservation Initiative.
🐢 Every life matters. Every nest matters. Every contribution helps move this mission forward.
Thank you for caring about sea turtles and the future of our oceans.
